Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): briggs and stratton, hiya tom, briggs and stratton

Hi I have a briggs and startton 14.5 hp engine number 287707 my question is the wire that connects to my fuel solenoide broke and would that be the reason my engine wont crank over what do u think?

Hiya Tom,
Absolutely.  Invest in a cheap crimper and a pack of wire terminals and you can make this repair yourself!

(This solenoid cuts off the fuel when you switch off the engine, keeping a hot engine from backfiring by shutting down the fuel instantly)
