Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): rear engine snapper mower stopped moving, snapper mower, clutch disc

Question
Hi,
I have a 14 hp snapper rear engine ride on mower, model 331415BVE, that stopped moving while I was cuting the lawn.  The engine runs fine.  With the engine in any forward or reverse speed the drive disc engages the clutch disc and disengages while in neutral.  When I manually turn the clutch disc the drive wheel turns but will not turn if I hold the wheel -- which I guess is the reason the lawn mower will not move.  Do you have any idea what the cause could be or how to troubleshoot the problem?

Thanks,
Harry

Answer
 Hello Harry:

Is the Clutch Cable Loose when the Clutch is engaged? If not; Adjust the Clutch Cable. The Gear Ratio is such that you will not be able to turn the Drive Disc while holding the Wheel. Remove the Blade Belt. When working on any Rear Engine rider Always Remove the Blade Belt Before Beginning any Maintenance that may involve being Under the Mower in Any Way. Is the Axle Drive Disc turning when engaged to the engine Disc? Can u turn the Engine Disc by Hand when in Nuetral? Is the Is the Axle Drive Wheel Rubber Intact? The Rubber should be about 1" high max  1/2' min.

 Respectfully

 John
