Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): jump starting a dead battery, craftsman lawn tractor, positive cable

Question
Can I use my car to jump start a dead battery on my Craftsman lawn tractor?  If so, could you please explain the procedure?  I am inexperienced at this sort of thing.

 Hello Becky:

 Place the Positive Cable on the Positive post of the Auto Battery. Then Place the Other end on the Mower Battery. Then Place the Ground Cable to the Auto Battery. The the Other end to a Metal part of the Frame on the Mower or the Engine of the Mower. There may be Sparks when Hooking up the Ground to the Mower. As soon as the Mower Starts, remove in reverse order. Hope this Helps.
