Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tecumseh HS40, snow thower, tecumseh engine

Question
I read your answer on the HS 40 engine earlier, so i have my carb soaking tonight. My engine is on an Ariens snow thower. It starts and will run with the choke pulled all of the way out, but doesn't have enough power to turn the auger. I am cleaning the carb, and will set it up as you instructed.  If that doesn't work should i consider replacing the carb? The engine seems to have good compression, and runs good with out a load. I am looking for a rebuild kit, but normally don't have a lot of luck with rebuilding the old ones. Tanks for any help.
