Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): mower stalling, silver piece, lawnmower

Question
Hello

My craftsman 5.5 HP lawnmower has been stalling after it runs for about 5 seconds.  I would unscrew the fuel bowl and let some gas out and reassemble it and it would run fine....for a while.  Last time I thought I would take this bowl off and really see what the problem is.  I found a very small silver piece that resembles a pencil shape with a point and a small wire or spring attached laying in the bowl.  Where does this piece fit since this must be the problem!?!?

Answer
 Hello John:

You will have to Remove the Carb. Turn it Upside Down. Remove the Float Piviot Pin. There is a Hole for the Needle to go in just Below the Piviot Pin. The Attached Wire will slip over a Lip on the Underside of the Float near where the Piviot Pin hooks to the Float. Make Sure Float is Moving the Needle Up and Down. Resassemble the Carb. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
