Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Drive belt slipped rethreading?, vbelt, cutting blade

Question
I have a Troy Bilt Bronco riding mower. To give you the full story- I unfortunately hit a small stump in the lawn recently and bent one of the cutting blade bad enough to stop the machine  I attempted to restart and found that the bent blade was digging in the ground. Fine - so I stopped and bought a new blade attached and used the repaired mower for about 20 strong minutes when the machine stopped going forward or backward no drive connection. I looked and found that the rear smaller Vbelt is off- though I have no idea how to reach it and even if I could I dont know how it would reloop it onto the pulley. Any advice on how to get to it and how to rethread it and or any thoughts on why this may have occured. I dont think it is related to the accident but it could be.

Answer
 Hello Malcolm:

What is the Model of this Rider? You will have to Drop the Cutter Deck. Then Lay under the Mower to replace the Belt on the Pulley. Check the Belt for a Broken Cord. The Belt will Look Crooked instead of Straight. You should be able to see how the Belt fits once you are under the mower. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
