Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Poulan lawn mower (blade and engine cable), lawn mower blade, tension bar

Question
Hello, and thank you for your time.  We had a bit of an issue wherein a hidden metal object (grounded) bent the blade.  We are wondering if there is a way to straighten the blade at home, or if machinery is the only way to perform that.  Also, while inspecting the blade (with the mower on its side), the engine zone control cable (the part that hooks onto the tension bar at the top of the handle) came loose.  Not having examined that piece before, we are wondering how that can be repaired.

Thanks again for your time.

Answer
 Hello Christi:

Never Straighten A Bent Blade.  The blades are made from a Treated Metal. Once Re Straightened, it becomes weak and can Break from hitting a clod of dirt. Their is a Z hook on the end of the Cable and that hook goes through a hole in the Tension bar. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John
