Land Rover Repair: 93 range rover classic fuel pump electrical, system fyi, volt system

Question
I have a 93 RR classic.  The fuel pump stopped working.  I replaced with an old working pump and drove her for a short time.  This pump failed.  My question is when in position I or II I only get 6 volts to the pump thru the green/black wire.  Is this correct on a 12 volt system.  FYI, this is what I got before putting in the older pump.  Thanks.

Answer
The 6v reading indicates a problem in the wiring to the pump.  You should have a solid 12v signal back at the pump.  If you don't, something is corroded.  That is probably why the replacement pump failed, too.  Fix the wiring as the truck will not perform right with anything less than 12v there.

Best of luck with the Rover
