Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Drive Belt on Wards Rider Mower, drive belts, retainers

I have replaced two drive belts on my Wards Lawn mower which is over 15 years old. It works fine at the lower speeds, but when I go to higher ones the belt jumps off of the drive wheel.  Is there an adjustment that can be made to tighten the belt.    Thanks

 Hello Joe:

 There should be a Belt Retainer Guard that keeps the belt from jumping off. It may have been moved when you replaced the belts. Some retainers are just a bolt or a rod. The Belt retainer should be positioned 1/8' from the pulley. Hope this Helps.
