Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S STARTER TROUBLE, crank shaft, spray lubricant

Question
I have a 8hp b&s mower that I can not get the loud, squell, out of thr rope pull starter.
I have replaced the starter clutch, used WD-40 on the crank shaft, Sanded the end of the shaft and still have that un-godly noise. It also kicks the rope out.
Any help to get this thing to be quiet  would make my day!

Answer
Hiya Lynwood
Try this test.  Buy a small can of silicone spray lubricant (for treadmills or fishing reels, same stuff).  Crank it and while its sqealing spray the stuff liberally up and around the top of the clutch using the little red fine spray tube.  If it dosen't stop sqealing Lynwood, that ain't your problem!  I have a 5hp makes an awful sound like that, but mine is internal (main crank bearing is going bad).  It still runs too, but I shut it down until I could rebuild it.
Lemme know how the test goes
