Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs and Stratton Engine Problem, twin cylinder engine, briggs and stratton

Question
I have a Sears garden tractor with a 19.5 B&G twin cylinder engine.  I just had the carborator rebuilt.  I have gas getting to the carbarator but not into it.  If I prime the carbarator it starts but the dies out after the gas I poured in is used.  I have suction from the line going from the crankcase to the carbarator ( was told that this is how the gas is brought from the tank to the engine).

The gas is new and the lines are clear.  There does not appear to be any dry rot in the lines nor any cracks.

Answer
Hiya Chris-
Sorry to hear that- someone didn't complete the job on your carb. The possibilities are as follows:
1- The float is bad and has fuel in it.
2- The Needle valve is stuck closed, or the little clip is out of position & not correctly installed on the float tang.
3- The fuel jet leading from the float bowl into the carb throat is clogged.
4- (Hopefully) They forgot to re-open the idle mixture screw 1 1/2 turns after installing.
5- The fuel pump was incorrectly rebuilt (this varys greatly(depends on carb/fuel pump style)

If I were you I'd take it straight back to the shop that did the work, and demand to know why it it dosen't run (explain that you know it is a fuel delivery problem).
Print the above out and keep it as a reference.  I have to go out of town all week but will be back next weekend- I'd like to know what you find.
Good Luck & Good Hunting!
