Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper Mower, snapper mower, throttle control

Question
I have a Snapper ridding mower from 1985.  It was working fine, until last cut when it started stalling.  When I inspected the motor, I noticed a spring had popped off from the throttle.  I hooked the spring back up and now it backfires alot and revs high and stalls out.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Frank

Answer
 Hello Frank:

Sounds like the Spring was put back on incorrectly. The Spring should be Connected from the Governor Arm to the Throttle Control Link. The Spring is what actually opens the Butterfly in the Carb by way of the Govenor Arm. If the Engine Revs too High it will Starve the Engine of gas and Cause the Stalling. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully
