Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Mantis tiller SV-2AE won;t start, rotary corp, mantis tiller

Question
John,

I would greatly appreciate the model number.  As for the company, so you mean NOMA?  That is the only company beginning with "N" at www.outdoordistributors.com.  Thanks for all your help.

Question -
John.

Thanks for the info.  If you could, please give me the part number so that I know what I am looking at for a replacement.  Also, on the shut off switch being a problem,   how can I tell if it is?  I disconnected the wire from the set-up and it still did not start.  Is that how you would test the shut off switch?

Question -
I have a Mantis tiller that will not start because it does not have a spark.  Plug and coil look fine.  My guess is the ignition module is the problem.  I cannot find parts for this model either locally or internet.  Are there any tests I can do to confirm whether the ignition module is the problem?  Is there anything I am missing in my testing?

One parts store told me that the ignition module may be obtained from a copier repair shop or TV shop as it is used in these appliances.  Have you heard this?

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

 Hello Mark:

There is a Universal Ign Module that I use to Replace the Modules on Most Outdated Small Engines. It will have to be bolted to the Outside of the Unit, but it will Replace the Old Module. The Module is used mostly on Lawn Mowers but as I have said it works just fine on my Mantis Tiller.  Try http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ as they have a large Selection of parts. I will try to Locate the Actual Part Number for the Module in case you have Trouble finding one. If you know a Small Engine Repair Shop that you Deal with; Tell them the Module is from Rotary Corp in Georgia. They should know the Company as they are the Largest Aftermarket Supplier of Small Engine Parts in the US. Also make sure the Shutoff Switch is Not your Problem. They Do Short Out. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck
