Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Cub Cadet/ Kohler, Gets Hot and shuts off, cub cadet, fuel filter

Question
I had has this Cub since it was new in 1997, it has around 650 hours, last season started having problems with it cutting off after running for around an hour or so, I have had in the shop several times and still the same thing. I had the fuel pump replaced, lines cleand out, new fuel filter, and Modgler replaced. It still does not operate right, now only seems to be getting worse, runs 30 mins or less now, and very hard to get started when i go to start it now. The model is 2135 13hp kohler. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Todd

Answer
 Hello Todd:

If you have replaced the Ign Module, then thats one Possible Problem out of the way. The most likely cause is either the Ign Module or the Coil are  Heating up and Stops Working until it cools. I have seen this Happen several times. Also you cant Check the Coil or the Ign Module Until the Engine Quits and Wont Restart. The Coil will Function Properly when Cold. But Not when Hot. If you take this to a Repair Shop, be sure to tell them and they should know how to Check the Coil when Hot and Repair your Problem. Also the Carb Could be the Reason for the Hard to Start. It may need to be Cleaned and Reuilt. Hope this Helps.

 Good Luck
