Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs and Stratton points, briggs and stratton, reputable shop

I have an old Jacobsen reel mower Lawn Prince 18 with a B&S engine,
(unknown model number). It's got no spark. Spark pluk is ok and tested
on another mower.I want to check the points but I'm not sure where to
start. There is a wire that goes into the engine block with what seems like
a rubber seal, are these the points? How do I trouble shoot this problem?

keith- not too familiar with reel mowers- but with an older briggs engine the points are under the flywheel, which you'll have to remove.  If you're not familiar with tools, feeler gages, and have limited tooling available consider taking this into a reputable shop, for them it'll be a pretty quick job.  If you really want to tackle it your self, reply back and we'll go through it.
