Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Ride on mower...Gear Problem, ballbearings, gear lever

Question
Dear Sir,
I have the model # 917.270510...42" cut mower..14.5hp b&s engine. It has been a very reliable mower up until recently, when i could not move the gear lever to change gear.I stripped the casing etc down & found that the problem seems to be the selecter plate inside the casing. The 2 small ballbearings had come lose & caused the plate to catch on the casing, preventing it from moving.there seems to be a washer/spacer that i need to keep the gear lever/selecter & bearings in place, but i can't find a supplier. When i do eventually get the part & start to re-assemble it,what do i need to look out for,to make sure the selecter is in the right place etc..& the gears will all select ok..
Thanking you in advance for your help..
Yours sincerely

 Hello Robert:

The Transaxle may be Manufactured by 1 of 2 Companies. Once you have Determined who Manufactured the Transaxle, Then you will be able to Located the Parts you Requested. Your local Small Engine Shop should be able to look at the Transaxle and Determine the Manufacturer. Once you have the Manufacturer of Transaxle, I can help you more.
