Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ryobi 31cc, (Family SN4031UB24RA;EM)piston position, piston skirt, exhaust ports

Piston was removed, Position not noted!
Piston skirt on one side is cut away.Should 'cut away' be replaced towards inlet/exhaust ports or towards cutter head?

Have you checked the internet for other chat/help sites?

I can look to see if we have a manual but we rarely ever work on Ryobi trimmers...labor is too costly to repair most of their products.

Let me know if you find any info in the mean time I will check to see what we have.
