Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): toro snowthrower S620 Tecumseh AH600, toro snowthrower, s620

Question
Hi Eric,
I had asked a previous question regarding the above snowthrower and an oil leak. The mix I am using is 32:1 per the manufacturer. After removing the plastic cover I relaced the gasket between the engine casing. It is apparently leaking slightly from the muffler. Any suggestions? Thank you

Answer
You can soak the muffler is some cleaner, carb cleaner, gasoline or another type of solvent to disolve the oil in the muffler.  Make sure you let it dry before re-installing it.

It not uncommon for 2 cycles to leak oil from the muffler.  Unburned oil collects in the muffler and when it gets hot the oil softens and leaks.  This is normal.

How old is the snowblower?
