Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Two-Cycle Engine, two cycle engines, fuel stabilizer

Question
The generator is less than a year old, and has only been run for a couple of hours (in warm weather).  I used fresh fuel.  It has a choke but no primer.  They tell you to  pull the cord a few times slowly before starting.  I guess that's to prime it.  Then I have to pull many times to start it.

Question -
I bought a cheap generator with a two-cycle engine.  It has been very hard to start since it was new, and it has been used very little.  It works fine after it finally starts.  Is there anything I can do about the hard starting?  Thank you for your generous help.
Answer -
Is the fuel fresh?  Less than 30 days old?  If not get some new fuel and add fuel stabilizer to it.

I have had friends recommend using some stuff called Sea Foam.  They said it helped.

How old is the generator?  Does it have a primer bulb and choke setup?

Let me know.
Eric

Answer
What brand is it?
Have you tried replacing the spark plug?

I have found a couple of new two cycle engines where some of the bolts were not tight causing an air leak making the engine very hard to start.  Check all the bolts you can find to make sure they are tight.
