Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda HS35 Snowblower, honda snow blower, honda hs35

Question
Hi I have a HS35 Honda snow blower that I cannot seem to get any spark from it. I have changed the Plug cover and plug. The original Plug Cover seemed to have no continuity between where the wire attached and where the plug snapped in. When the plug cover was off I used a VOM to see if I had voltage coming out of the coil which I did around 14V when I spun the crank but cannot get a spark at the electrode on the end of the plug. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help
Steve

Answer
How old is snowblower?

Unfortunately we don't see many blowers but troubleshooting is pretty much the same on all brands.

If you remove the engine fan shroud, the metal cover, you should have access to the ignition coil/module.  If you have a one piece module you can dis-connect the small ground wire connected to the coil and then recheck for spark.

Let me know what you find and also about the age.
