Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Old Jack Snow Blower, float bowl, jack snow

Question
Eric,

Thanks for the advice.  I was hoping it was just a setting.

It is a Tecumseh - Any way to use some type of cleaner in the gas?

Question -
I have an old Jacobsen (Imperial) Snow blower.  In getting it ready for this winter, I started it up.  Start up was easy, but could not keep it going without having the choke on.  Whenever, I slid the choke to off the engine died.  I kind of think this is a carb issue.  Any advice?
Answer -
Most likely you will have to remove, dis-assemble and clean the carb using an air compressor and carb cleaner.

What brand of engine is on the blower?
Let me know before you remove the carb.

Answer
Tecumseh normally uses a float style carb on their engines.  If you have a float style carb, you can try drain the fuel from the tank and then draining the carb by removing the float bowl nut located on the bottom of the carburetor.

Let me if draining the float bowl fixes the blower.
