Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S lawn mower drive pulley removal, briggs stratton, drive pulley

Question
Not able to remove the pulley off the bottom of the crankshaft.  Tried a puller and all I do is bend the  pulley. Is there some trick for it's removal.
Motor is a 5 hp Briggs & Stratton (circa early 90s) and the pulley is one of those dual types (drives two belts).  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Roger,

You could try a blunt tipped air impact chisel/hammer around the pulley hub.  You could also tap, near the bore, with a hammer and drift punch.  There is probably rust in the bore, holding it.  Appling penetrating fluid would help too.

Let me know how you make out.
