Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Chainsaw wont run, flow path, diaphram

Question
I have a Pioneer P40 that will start to run, then die. The spark plug works fine, and I think the fuel line is blocked since the tube is just filling up with air. If there's any other possibilities that can make the chainsaw work this way, please let me know. I'd also like to know what could cause the fuel line to be blocked. Help is much appreciated.

Answer
Hi Schuyler,

Trace the fuel flow path starting at the in-tank filter.  If you get a good flow at the carb's intake line, then I would suspect a carb problem.  Disassemble the carb, clean it and blow it out with compressed air.  Also add a carb rebuild kit including a new diaphram.

Let me know how you make out.
