There are 2 pullys coming off of the crank shaft, one goes to the tranmission just above the rear axel, and one is for the deck (blade).  there are 4 pullys for the deck belt include the one coming off of the crank shaft, and i belive that there are 3 pullys for the belt going to the transmission.   I hope this is what you are looking for.  I have asked a couple of shops what the year the mower is and the answer i get back is "it is old....."

Hi Eric,

My name is dan and i am have prolems with a older rider mower.  model number 1-30334-b date code 1056.  a couple of months ago the mower throw the belt for the blade.  and ever since i  have not being able to get the mower to run right.  the blade does not seem to be spinning fast enough to cut the grass.  I have replaced the belt and the adapter the were the blade bolts on too.  think that the belt was "free" spinning, with no luck..  I have come to the concluesion that the belt has to be on wrong.  can suggest a web site that has the configuration on it, or perhasp send a  picture.  I have tryed murray web site and it does not regonize the modle number.  when i have ordered parts in the past for this my retailer had to contact murray and ask for mircophise to find the correct parts.  anyway i hope you can help. thank you for your time.

Murray recently went bankrupt so manuals are difficult to find.

The belt should not be that difficult to install.  If your pulley has a V shape then the V part should go inside the V pulley.  You should have an idler pulley, with a flat face.  The back or flat part of the belt should ride on the flat face of the pulley.
How may blades does the deck have?
Does this help at all?
Let me know.
Eric

Eric,
The mower has one blade, I am almost postive that the belt is on right.  However, I think there is not enough tension on the pully to spin the blade fast enough for the blade to cut any grass.  There is an adjustment for the idler arm to tighting or loosen the belt i have it as tight as it will go.  I am postive that i have the right size belt on the mower and the blade is also on right(not backwards). Please help.

Answer -
How many belt pulleys do you have?  One in the engine, one on the deck and one in between?

This must be a very old mower...1970's or so.

Let me know.
Eric

Answer
Do you have two 15 inch blades?

If you have 3 pulleys on the deck, 2 must be for the blade shafts and the other is an idler.

Belts usuall come off the engine, run from the engine to the left blade shaft pulley if you are sitting on the mower, then to the left blade shaft pulley, and then the back side of the of the belt hits the idler pulley.

When you engage the blades does the belt tighten?
Let me know
