Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Oil leaks, oil leaks, air filter

My 5.5 hp craftsman walk behind lawnmower leaks out the the airfilter due to me flipping the mower over to clean the blade.  I researched to fix this you should just replace the airfilter and i don't see how a new airfilter can fix this problem.  Can you please help?

Hi Daniel,

The leak or dripping should stop when the mower is right side up and that problem should take care of itself.  Cleaning or replacing the air filter solves the problem of an oil soaked filter.  If there is any smoking, that should clear up also.
