Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): briggs ignition, magnatron, radio shack

is there something I can buy at Radio Shack to repair the non-points ignition assuming the coil windings are not the problem and if so what, and how to attach it? Thanks

Never really looked into stuff at Radio Shack.  I doubt you could repair a Briggs magnatron ignition because the transistor(s) inside the module would be extremely difficult to get to; you would have to remove all the outside sealed material to get to the internal parts.

Are you having trouble with coils?  I've checked thousands of coils and only found a few to be defective.  I have worked for a Briggs CSSD and we handled all the warranty claims for a large region...again we only found a few defective coils amoung hundreds of warranty claims.

Do you have weak spark or no spark at all?
