Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): ATV starting, cam lobes, timing chain

Question
i have a 1987 Polaris cyclone. it starts very hard and i did get it running a few days ago, after i rode it around i turned it off and now it wont start. i have tired a few things like cleaning the carb checking the spark plug and the gas line. so i am not sure what to do any ideas?
