Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda Lawnmower Engine, honda lawnmower, lawnmower engine

Question
Hello Michael,
I removed the blade for sharpening from my Honda Harmony lawnmower and reattached.  Upon trying to start the engine, the pull cord will not release.  It feels as if the engine is partially frozen because I can just barely get movement when pulling on the recoil.
I removed the pull cord housing, and all was operational.  I attempted to turn the blade by hand, it was very difficult.  I also attempted to turn the blade by using the large nut on the flywheel housing, and again it was very difficult.
Not 10 minutes before I removed the blade, the engine was running in my garage just fine. Is there anything I can do to get the engine to spin freely and start?

Answer
Hi Ken,

Turn it over with the spark plug removed.  If it is seized it will turn over hard then.  If not, reinstall the plug and wire.  When you pull it over does it seem to pull back and try to yank the recoil handle out of you hand?  Was an object hit while mowing or was the mower run with a loose blade?

Michael
