Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnmower no spark, push mower, oil level

Question
Tryed to start NEW, used only 2x murray 3.5 hp push mower after turning off from mowing frt yard.  It has been starting on first pull.  tryed priming, tilted forward to check for something wrapped on blade.  now it wont even spark, might I have fouled something by tilting it up?  tryed a new plug & cleaned oil from filter.  HELP...husband is NOT happy.

Answer
Hi Aphrus,

Tilting it up too high would get oil into places where it shouldn't be but would cause no permanent harm.  Is the fuel clean and water free?  If there is no spark, then the ignition coil might have failed or the safety kill switch might have gone out of adjustment.  Check the oil level before running it.  If the mower is new, you might be able to return it or have it repaired under warrantee.

Let me know how you make out.
