Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): sears brushwacker, sears craftsman, sears canada

I have a sears craftsman brushwacker model # 636.786232 bought about 1986.I cannot seem to find somewhere to buy parts for this.sears canada or USA do not seem to acknowledge this number.Can you help.

That's part of the problem with equipment from Sears, Wal-Mart, etc.  Because they purchase from different manufacturers, support gets to be nearly impossible for them to maintain by the time a piece of equipment gets to be 20 years olds.  You need to determine which parts you need first.  I recommend you go to a good shop and have them assist you in finding parts.  Depending on what you need, they may have a source or the parts you require may be common to other brands.  Hope this helps.
