Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda Lawnmower, self propelled lawn mower, weaks

Question
I recently bought a used, self propelled lawn mower (early 90's model)  Upon purchase I cleaned carb, put in a new plug, and fresh fuel.  First time mowing yard it ran great.  Second time, two weaks later, it would start but bog down when I employed the mowing blade and would die when mowing at any but the slowest speed. It would restart easily, but problem persisted.  Any advice?

Answer
Hi Aaron,

You will need to determine if the problem is mechanical or engine related.  Does it bog down only when the wheel drive is engaged or just worse when the added load of the drive is place on the engine?  Is the blade sharp and is the underside of the deck free of grass?

Let me know.
