Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tecumseh wont start, battery cables, flywheel

Question
My starter just spins, when it does decide to engage the flywheel it doesn't have enough power to turn it. Previous questions I found say to replace the starter but I did that($140) and it does the same thing.

Answer
Hi George,

This indicates low current to the starter.  I would suspect either a weak battery or bad connections.  Try jumping a good battery with cables to the starter terminals.  If it cranks normally, then try disconnecting the battery and jumping to the battery cables.

Let me know what you find.
