Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): lawnmower wont start, governer, kill switch

I have two mowers that keep giving me problems
first one is a honda that i can not get any spark have disconnected kill switch from coil and tried to start with no luck either and tested with another plug still no luck

the other mower is a tecumseh 3.75 hp would start on either but not stay running removed carb and cleaned but the linkages seem to be messed up and not working with the governor i can move to throttle but engine does not speed also have to start with ether also.  and the gas just keeps running out of the carb

Hi David,

The first mower has a bad coil, I suspect.

The second, probably still has a plugged passage.  It also sounds like a leaky needle and float seat. As far as the governer, you will need to look at another similar mower to see how it is supposed to be set up.
