Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Solenoid Wiring, gardentractor, safety switches

Question
I have a older model Yard King Riding Mower, I bought for my son.  I wanted him to get trained on an older mower, before I turn him loose on a new one. The Yard King riding mower is 12 hp B&S engine with a 40" cut. The solenoid was missing when I bought it. I have re-painted it, bought a new battery, tires, blades (2), new belts, rebuilt the carb, and now I am having trouble with the wiring on the solenoid. It has a safety wire to the riders seat, and about 3 other wires going to the solenoid from the starter, but I am unable to find anything, such as a wiring diagram, or manual on getting all those wires connected properly, so it will start and run smoothly. Can you help with any advise? By the way, I had it painted like a race car, so my son will want to cut the grass. Any help you can offer?  Thanks.

Answer
The only thing I can recommend is contacting a dealer to help you locate a diagram.  Or contact a Yard King dealer via the internet to see if they can help.  Here is a link with some diagrams but I notice they probably don't encompass all of the safety switches on your machine, however, you could try contacting the site owner and see if he can point you in a direction (http://www.jacques.lacasse.com/GardenTractor/)  I don't know of any specific location for a diagram otherwise.  Good idea with the paint job...kids love bright and shiny and cool.  Good luck.
