Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snowblower failure, mtd snowblower, tecumseh engine

Question
My 20 year old MTD snowblower with a 8 HP Tecumseh engine quit the other day while cleaning up neighbors driveway. Ran fine for 30 minutes then just stopped suddenly. Compression seems fine, getting gas but can't see any spark if I pull plug and crank it over using electric starter. A little leery about pulling it apart but will consider it since storm has dumped 18-24 inches into the driveway just today. Can't find booklet that came with machine and model number is unknown. Some plates on block but #'s don't coincide with books from library.

Answer
Hi Steve,

Sorry for my delay.  Snowed in here too!

Check the spark again.  If no spark, then you are on to the problem.  Try a new plug, check the wire and finally, replace the ignition coil.
Let me know what you find and if you wish to do the repair yourself.
