Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): replacing lid switch on Kenmore washer, kenmore washer, lid switch

I figured out that the problem with our washer was the lid
switch. Picked one up, brought it home...now how do I get into
the washer to install it? Is there a way to remove the top of the
washer? It is a Kenmore Super Capacity model# 20432991.

Hi Nathan,

Usually the front panel comes off first.  Look for screws at the bottom corners, then slide or snap the front off.  You might have access to the switch at that point or will be able to remove the top if needed.
