Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Homelite/Jacoben Sno-Burst Sno Thrower, diaphram, homelite

Question
I was just given a Model 320 Homelite Sno-Burst sno thrower in which somebody was throwing out because it would not run.
I can get it to run (after of course cleaning all old fuel out of carb) but the problem I am running into is that fuel continuously run out of the primer button located on the control panel.
Is this just a defective diaphram (I have checked them and they appear to be ok) or is this som sort of a carb problem.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Michael,

If fuel runs out of a rubber primer bulb or around a hard button, I would check for a tear or rip in the bulb or rubber seal.  If fuel runs out of the carb itself, then you could have a torn diaphram.  Try to pin point the leak and disassemble the carb as needed.

Let me know how you make out.
Michael
