Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman lawnmower(honda 5.5), carburator, spark plug
Question Iam having a problem getting my mower started. The spark plug is OK, so I took off the carburator. I blew into the main jet and it doesn't seem to be plugged. I know it isnt getting gas, the spark plug is completely dry.
AnswerHey Adam,
Although the main jet seems to be ok it may be the internal holes that are allowing gas to get to the carb throat. Soak the carb(disasemble first and take of ALL Gaskets) and gas lines in gasoline for about 2-3 hours. Then run pipe cleaner through the small holes in the carb and throught the gasline tubes. Then resoak for 30 min just to get the rest out. Good Luck. Let me know how this works out.
