Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Diode Harness, snapper mower, rider mowers

Question
I have a 1986 Snapper mower with a B&S engine and a magnetron ignition. I purchased a new diode harness with two diodes. One end hooks to the hot side of the solonoid. The other end goes to the ignition. I can get power from the solonoid to the diode, but not past the diode. This harness also has an end that fastens to the light switch with a diode. Might you know why I cannot get power past the first diode? Also, can I bypass these two diodes?

Thanking you for your reply!!

Answer
Hey Orland,
I dont have much experience with these rider mowers but what you have to do is check for interference. Look for matal to metal contact on the diode or soleniod. If there is no interference the ignition is probably gone or you battery needs changing. Hope this helps. Let me know how this works out.
