Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Primmer Bulb not functioning and engine will not run smoothly when started with quick start., internal passages, master craft

Question
This is a series two carb from a Master Craft 425 HP with a Tecumseh Carb, Engine- Model LEV 100  -340018D (C) Engine Family YTP xS.1631BA Displacement 163, DOM . 0095 P.  The carb has been thoroughly
cleaned & also has a new needle and seat.  Primmer does not appear to draw gas up to the throat of carb
and when finally get it running with quick start it has a miss, not  running smoothly.  Tried to put a different primmer bulb on but not the correct one and does not work at all.  Bulb was not  damaged at all and not worn out & should have been functioning properly.  Is there something different on this particular model to cause this problem as compared to the regular type of Tecumseh carbs.  There are not idle or high speed mixture needles to adjust at all,  Any help will be greatly appreciated,

Answer
There is nothing peculiar to this type of carb to cause this.  If the primer bulb isn't functioning and it runs poorly, I suspect one of two thing.  Either the fuel tank vent is plugged or the carb is dirty.  To check the tank vent, loosen the fuel cap and try it.  If this corrects things, you will need to unplug the tank vent or replace it (cap).  If not, remove and clean the carb thoroughly, including pushing a piece of tag wire through all of the internal passages.  If you find debris in the carb, clean the fuel tank also and check your gas can for cleanliness.  Hope this helps.
