Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman riding mower/electrical diagram, booster cables, booster battery

Question
I got an old craftsman mower that the engine is still good, the deck is shot. Some one gave me a mower that the piston exploded out the side of it. The mower looks new, I changed the engines and it still would not start, My old engine started every time so I thought I would change out the wiring and key switch, I dont think I put it back on correctly and it wont do anything now. The engine will turn over when jumping it, I thought it might be the starter, but its not. The battery is new and fully charged. This is a 13hp engine Gold series. How can I find a electrical diagram for this to see if I connected it back right or is there some other problem. Thanks for any help you might give. Model # 917.255572

Answer
You would need to contact a dealer to obtain a wiring diagram.  If it turns over with booster cables, the issue is either the battery or the connections to it.  First, make sure all of the battery and starter connections are clean and well connected.  Then I would take the battery into a shop to have it load tested.  This will tell you if there is an issue with the battery.  If the battery or the connections are not the problem, the starter is because it requires the extra amperage from a booster battery to turn it.  Another problem could be an accessory belt dragging on the engine (not properly disengaged).  Hope this helps.
