Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Smoking weed eater, homelite trimlite, oil mixture

Thank you for taking my question Eric.  I have a 97 Homelite trimlite that starts to smoke after a short period fo time(about a minute).Could it be the mixture?

Very likely.  Are you using Homelite 2 cycle oil?

As trimmers get older they natually wear and tend to smoke more.  As years pass the muffler collects old carbon and oil which tend to smoke when the trimmer reaches normal operating temperatures.  Nothing to worry about.

What fuel/oil mixture  are you using?
