Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Homelite string trimmer, homelite string trimmer, fuel line

Question
Hi,
My Homelite string trimmer stopped running due to fuel starvation.  The pump bulb will depress but will not expand with fuel in it...it simply stays down.  I have disassembled the carb and blown it out and all seems fine but it is not getting fuel and the bulb still does not function, i.e. it stays down when depressed.  Help!

Thanks.

Ted

Answer
It sounds like there may be a problem with the fuel line from the tank (and filter) or the tank vent.  Loosen the fuel cap slightl and try priming it.  If it now primes, you will need to replace the fuel tank vent.  If it still doesn't prime, you will need to check the fuel line and filter for blockage.  Hope this helps.
