I am trying to find info on a Lawn Chief riding mower. I believe it was purchased in 2001.  It has a 17HP  briggs and Stratton engine  witha 42" deck

Let me know what you find.  In the old days you had to go through True Value to get anything. It's been many years since I've been around a True Value hardware store so I'm wondering if you can now get parts directly from MTD. You shouldn't have any trouble getting parts for the mower from an MTD dealer, unless you have a bad dealer...we sell parts for Lawn Chief (MTD) mowers all the time.
