Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): engine timming, degree wheel, dial indicator

phil
AnswerHi Phil,
A dial indicator is attached to the spark plug hole to indicate top dead center of the piston. A degree wheel is attached to the flywheel. The points are then set to fire at the proper degrees "before top dead center".
