Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Riding mower wont start, lawn chief, connector plug

Question
Got home tonight hoping to get the lawn mowed before I escape for a long weekend...

I have a Lawn Chief model 545, B&S 15hp 43"deck.

Turn the key and nothing happens, no warning/idiot lights, and not a sound from the engine or starter.

I assumed a dead battery, so I installed a new one and replaced the fuse (couldn't tell for sure if it was tripped).  Still nothing.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Answer
Did you check the ignition switch connection?  Also, if any safety switch is not operating correctly, you'll get nothing.

There is a switch on the clutch, deck and should be one on the seat.  Check for loose connection.  Some of the connections would even get dirty; just removing and reseating the connector plug would sometimes fix a no start problem.

Let me know what you find.
