Chrysler Repair: 97 Chrysler T&C : hesitation while at speed, obd ii reader, autozone

Question
Hi Roland,
In the last month, our T&C has developed a momentary "shudder" when going at speed (55 - 70 mph).  At first it felt like it hit a patch of ice, but it has done it in warmer temps as well.  No "check engine" light, no codes of anything wrong.  This shudder feels almost like the trans went into neutral for a fraction of a second and then caught again.  It has 185K miles, last summer I had the trans flushed and new filter installed.

Answer
Hi Carlos,
When you say "no codes.." does that mean that you had an OBD-II reader plugged-in to the socket under the dash? If you tried to get codes by the ignition key method then that would explain 'no codes' because the '97 model didn't give codes that way. Because of the many possible reasons for that symptom I don't believe there is a practical way to diagnose this except to wait for a code to come up. You can get a free code readout at an Autozone parts store or for about $40 at an independent shop. Once you get a code let me know what it is and also tell me which engine you have and we can go from there.
