Question
What would cause gas to leak from carburator. The engine
quit running and I noticed gas leaking from carburator.
Upon trying to restart engine gas came out of exhaust. I
also removed spark plug and gas ran out.

Answer
There is a problem with either the needle and seat or the float.  You need to remove the carb and inspect the inlet needle and seat for wear and replace accordingly.  If the float is the problem, it won't float because it has a hole in it (you should hear fuel in it if you shake it).  Hope this helps.
