Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): small engine repair - ignition coil, spark plug wire, lawn trimmer

How do you test an ignition coil on a craftsman lawn trimmer (Model#358-797260).  This coil has the spark plug wire and another uninsulated lead (ground, maybe). I put an ohm meter across the two wires and get very high resistance.  

Any Idia if I can get this part from someone other than caftsman ($30.00+)

Hi Paul,

I'm not sure how to test a coil with a meter.  If you get no spark with the wires attached and the flywheel gap correct, then it most likely is bad.

Unless you know who made the trimmer for Sears then it's hard to get parts elsewhere.
