Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 2 cycle ignition problem, air gap, spark test

Question
I have a Sears leaf blower, 2 cycle engine.  Gas was new/fine, stopped running rather suddenly.  I checked the spark plug. It looked fouled.  I tried to get a spark and couldn't, replaced it...still no spark with the new plug.  I read somewhere about the air gap possibly being out of adjustment between the coil and the flywheel.  I put a voltage tester between the plug wire and the motor frame...it registers 1.5v when I spin the flywheel.  When I close the kill switch, there is still current, but drops to about .9v.  I am puzzled by this one. Can't afford a new blower right now, especially if this is repairable.  Can you help?

Answer
If there is an air gap of 0.010 - 0.012", the shut-off switch is disconnected and you have no spark, you will need to replace the ignition module (assuming this is not old enough to have points ignition).  There is no proper voltage test you can do to tell if secondary ignition voltage is adequate...only a visual spark test will tell you.  Hope this helps.
